On this page you will find directions to the various camp sites we use. For directions to the Troop 13 cabin, go here.

Directions to Battersby Plantation 1. From New Bern, follow HWY 17 South for about 7.5 miles past Walmart then turn right onto Ten Mile Fork Road. 2. Follow Ten Mile Road for 2 miles then turn left onto Scott Road. 3. Follow Scott Road for 1 mile then turn Left on to Oak Grove Road, then quick right onto Magg Smith Road. 4. Follow Magg Smith Road for 1 mile then turn left on Manning Lane (dirt road). 5. Follow Manning Lane to the end then take dirt road on left. 6. Turn right at horse pen follow to top of hill. 7. Set tents up along fence line. Put latrine at bottom of hill. Notes: December Campout. Set up VCR and watched night Christmas Vacation. Gift exchange ($5- $10 gift) Decorate Christmas tree Leaders serve deep fried Turkey (need to cook 10 minutes longer than directions), mashed potatoes, green beans, salad, rolls and desert to scouts. No training Directions to Bay River 1. Take Hwy 17 N over Neuse River Bridge to Hwy 55. 2. Follow Hwy 55 through Stonewall.. 3. Take first left after 2nd bridge onto Florence Road. 4. Follow Florence Road then turn left onto Weaver Camp Road. 5. Follow Weaver Camp Road to end of pavement then turn right onto gravel road. 6. Follow gravel road to river. Need Swimming shoes No toilets or water Dock for fishing Directions to Bret Taylor Horse Farm 1. Take HWY 43 North past Wyerhouser plant. 2. Turn left onto River Road (tower on right). 3. Turn right (at Old store) onto West Craven Road or Streets Ferry Road. 4. Look for large sand pile, pond, horse fence, barn on left. 5. Drive through grass to wooded end of pond, camp between woods and pond. Notes: No toilets, water is available at barn. Canoeing and swimming merit badges. A. Directions to Camp Bonner (South) Boy Scout Reservation. Camp Bonner (summer camp) is in Beaufort County, on the Pamlico River just east of Blounts Bay, across the river from Goose Creek State Park.   Camp Boddie 419 Camp Bonner Boy Scout Road Blounts Creek, NC 27814-9421 1) From New Bern (Berne Restaurant) follow HWY 43 for 10 miles; go past Weyerhaeuser Plant to intersection of HWY 17. Cross HWY 17 you are now on Macedonia Road, or just follow 17 North to Junction of HWY 43 then, 2) Turn right onto Old Brick Road (Macedommia Church is on left), which turns into Hills Creek Road, then turns into Core Point Road. (For a total of 7 miles) 3) Continue on Core Point Road for 3 more miles, pass Beaufort County line. 4) Road changes to South Flat Swamp Road, continue for 2 more miles. 5) Flat Swamp ends at Cox Cross Roads intersection (HWY 33). Take right then immediate left (Phillips 66 station) onto Core Point Road, follow for 3 miles. 6) Turn left onto Maules Point Road (Camp Bonner sign is on right side of road) Follow for 2 miles. 7) Turn left onto Mouth of the Creek Road. (Camp Bonner sign and Missionary Church is on right) Follow for 2 miles. 8) Turn right onto Bonner Scout Road. At end, pass rangers house on right and trading post center, veer to left for parking lot. Mess hall Trading post Bath houses B. Directions to Camp Bonner North (North side of Pamlico River). (Camporee Location) 1) Follow highway 17 North to Washington and go over bridge. 2) Turn right onto HWY 32 North (River Road) (at Mitchell Tractor). 3) Follow 32 North for 5 or 6 miles. 4) Hwy 32 North veers to the left at a convenience store, then turn right onto Harvey Road and follow signs to Pamlico Plantation. 5) Go 2 miles past “Cub Scout World” (old Salvation Army Camp). 6) Turn right into Pamlico Plantation (Camp Bonner North). There are roof shelters with electricity and water at spigots. No picnic tables, no washrooms. Porta-johns were provided at the Camporee. There are 2 large grassy fields in the front, near the entrance, with large oak trees used for parking areas. There is an iron gate at the entrance. Rangers name is George Sullivan H 252-946-7768, C 252-944-6948. Troop 13 campsite is near blue area shelter. Marked by 4 X 4 posts with 13. 2005 ran water and electric to our site. Directions to Cliffs of the Neuse (Seven Springs) About 62 miles from New Bern, 1.5 hours driving time. 919-778-6234 ex. 221 Vinuita Meeks 1. From New Bern, follow HWY 70 West approximately 40 miles to Kinston, go over bridge. 2. At the intersection of HWY 70 and 55, turn left onto HWY 55/11. 3. Follow HWY 55/11 for approx. 3 miles then turn right onto HWY 55 West. 4. Follow HWY 55 West for approx. 17 miles, at Cliffs of the Neuse sign (Exon Station on right); turn right onto HWY 111. 5. Follow HWY 111 for approximately 2 miles and turn right onto SR 1743. This will take you to the entrance of Cliffs of the Neuse State Park. Do not enter the park here for the Group Camp site. 6. Turn left onto SR 1742, go approximately 150 yards and turn right onto dirt road. This dirt road is very narrow and will only accommodate travel in one direction at a time, so go slow. Notes: Group site, Open year round, must make reservation, $1 per person. Water spigot, Latrine, Picnic table, fire pit, Fishing, Hiking. </div> </div> </body> </html> DIRECTIONS TO CAMP SAM HATCHER, NEWPORT, NC 1. From New Bern, follow Hwy 70 East to Havelock. 2. At the intersection of 70 E and Hwy 101 (traffic light) turn right onto Miller Blvd. 3. Follow Miller Blvd for 1 mile, just past RR tracks turn left onto Nine Mile Road. 4. Follow Nine Mile Road for 10.5 miles, turn left onto Sam Hatcher Road (dirt). Sam Hatcher Road sign is on the left and E-WA-HENWU sign is on the right side of the road. 5. Follow Sam Hatcher Rd. for 1 mile turn left at yellow gate or pass the first yellow gate and about ½ mile further there is another yellow gate on the left. Or 1. From Havelock, intersection of Hwy 70 E and Hwy 101. 2. Follow Hwy 70 E for 8.5 miles, turn right onto Roberts Road (national weather service station). 3. Follow Roberts Road for 4 miles, turn left onto Nine Mile Road. 4. Follow Nine Mile Road for 2 miles, turn left onto Sam Hatcher Road (dirt). 5. Follow Sam Hatcher Rd. for 1 mile turn left at yellow gate.
